Festival Fluctuations
Toutes les initiativesFluctuations is Europe’s first itinerant river festival, dedicated to the just transition—democratic, environmental, and social. It combines concerts, panel discussions, workshops, a food court, and a solutions village, creating festive spaces for exchange between artists, citizens, and local stakeholders at each stop.
The festival aims to be sustainable (through river transport and eco-responsible organization), inclusive (with gender-balanced and LGBTQIA+ programming, accessible ticketing, and engagement with disadvantaged groups), and socially engaged, blending artistic sensitivity with civic awareness.
Why rivers? Because they represent a natural heritage that connects us—citizens and territories—from Le Havre to Kyiv. They also embody a poetic celebration of slowness and the natural world.
In 2024, Fluctuations brought together 5,000 participants during four stops in four European countries aboard a floating residence barge. In 2025, it plans three major stops: Paris (Seine), Strasbourg (Rhine), and Budapest (Danube), with a target of 10,000 festival-goers.
The choice of rivers symbolizes a living heritage that connects territories and embodies a philosophy of slow living and community.
Fluctuations doesn’t follow the current… it creates it.
