Two rivers, one source of life

The association of the Barges du Val de Rhône proposes to organize on board “La Vorgine AND My Discovery” a language exchange trip between two classes of middle school students (4th grade). One from the city of Turin in Italy and the other from the Métropole de Lyon, as part of the ERASMUS program.  This 5-day, 4-night trip will take place on the Rhone and the Saone with stops at various river stations in the metropolis, punctuated by activities focused on the river, its preservation, as well as water resources and land management.

During a week of educational navigation on the Rhône and the Saône, Italian and French students discover the ecological and cultural richness of the Lyonnais territory in connection with the Rhône and the Saône. They conduct surveys on local biodiversity, keep a bilingual logbook and share their experiences through joint productions (exhibition, travel diary, mini-film). Italian students also bring with them cultural and scientific knowledge of the Po basin in order to share it with French students, in an effort to foster reciprocal exchanges on issues related to rivers, beyond borders.
