Yakusimi Runa: the people who speak the language of water
Toutes les initiativesYakusimi Runa: the people who speak the language of water
Started in 2023 in France and led by the AINANOCAN association, in partnership with Red Yuma (Colombia), the Yakusimi Runa process is an alliance project and a cycle of intercultural dialogue meetings focused on the ethics of water care. This alliance is based on the recognition of the continuity of the world’s major rivers, and with it of the inalienable interdependence of territories and watercourses in the climate balance.
This initiative is one of the components of the Feeling-Thinking the Territory project: a participatory action-research system that combines sensitive walks, thematic conferences, and workshops, mobilizing researchers in life sciences and social sciences, artists, and actors of civil society in the perspective of modern and non-modern knowledge to rethink our relationship with living beings and territories.
This project concerns the catchment area of the Sèvre Niortaise and its tributaries, and the wetland of the Marais poitevin, a territory marked by a serious issue of territorial health and water use conflicts.
