Every year, 2.6 million men, women and above all children die from waterborne diseases and insalubrious environments.
Water, the element of life, can also be a danger, when drinking water is lacking for domestic consumption and there is no adequate drainage. Malaria, cholera, dengue, etc. are among the many diseases linked to water.
Sometimes friend, sometimes enemy, water remains a source of abundance whose quality must be preserved. It is also urgent and necessary to reduce the impact of the different forms of pressure affecting it: climatic, migratory, demographic, urban, economic, and so forth. Keeping in mind the first figure, we must also remember that 40% of the world’s population will be faced with water shortages by 2050.
