All the newsLike’n share: the Rhone in majesty in Lyon
The River Rhone is given pride of place in the city of Lyon, with several events to celebrate it organised for the general public.
Following the railings of the Jardin du Luxembourg in Paris last summer, the exhibition of Camille Moirenc’s photos, “Facets of the Rhone, king of rivers”, has been hung on the railings of the Hôtel du Département-Préfecture since 20 May and will stay there until 20 July. In collaboration with CNR, Camille Moirenc, a native of Aix-en-Provence and lover of the river, invites you to travel from the source of the Rhone in Switzerland to its delta in the Camargue. 84 photographs illustrate the journey along 812 kilometres of river with the landscapes and people encountered on the way.
The City of Lyon will also celebrate its most precious resource, water, at a new annual event: the festival Between Rhone and Saone, whose first edition will be held from 1 to 3 July. Organised around several standout events, it will offer the people of Lyon the occasion to renew their links with rivers, by drawing closer to them: open air cafés, conferences, exhibitions and pedagogical workshops will be on offer over the three days. IFGR, with its programme Living with Rivers, is a partner of the event.
And, of course, the voices of the River Rhone will make themselves heard thanks to Living with Rivers from 20 June onwards!
