All the newsRivers are in the spotlight in the 5th water barometer of Solidarités International
On the occasion of the World Water Day, the humanitarian organisation Solidarités International* published the 5th edition of its Water, Health and Drainage Barometer.
This edition reveals a new inventory for this vital shared resource, elucidates the causes and the impacts of drinking water shortages, highlights the actions implemented to facilitate access to universal access to water and drainage, and examines the progress made by different countries. It also points out shortcomings and places solutions to the fore, from the most local to the most global.
Through the voice of its Chairman, Erik Orsenna, IFGR has been invited to talk about the situation of the world’s rivers: the challenges and solutions for the well-being of local populations and the development of the territories they cross.
Thanks to Solidarités International and especially to Alain Boinet, its founder, for this dual perspective on water resources!
* For nearly 40 years, Solidarités International has acted to help the victims of conflicts, natural disasters and epidemics, and assists early recovery regarding access to water, health and drainage. It is currently present in twenty countries to provide essential humanitarian aid to more than 5 million people.
