Implementing a dialogue between science and traditional knowledge to better understand and protect rivers

Toutes les initiatives

The aim of this project of Tchendukua – Ici et ailleurs is to draw inspiration from the ancestral knowledge and practices of the Kogi people (Colombia) to re-examine our current practices with regard to the environment and rivers.

In 2023, a delegation of Kogis, supported by French and Swiss scientists, came along the Rhône to bring their view and “diagnosis” of the river and its territory, based on their vision, which is completely different from the Western one.

The valorization of this mission will take place in 2024.

Stages :

  • Valorization and popularization of the results of the cross-diagnosis of territorial health along the Rhône, carried out during the visit of a Kogi delegation.
  • Creation and management of an implementation and experimentation laboratory based on pilot sites.

Other actions will be associated (experimentation, regeneration of pilot sites, etc.).
