Kit paddle

The aim of the Paddle & Protect project of the Watertrek association is to raise awareness of the need to preserve water and aquatic ecosystems, with a particular focus on rivers, by proposing mobilization tools accessible to as many people as possible, developed in-house by the Watertrek team. Watertrek offers volunteers the chance to get involved, by customizing an initiative based on a pre-existing, tried-and-tested framework. What makes us special is that we combine sport (hiking or water sports) with participatory science (data collection & mapping of plastic pollution, global warming indicators & chemical toxins), and collaborative art, combined with an audiovisual approach that serves as a medium for exchange and awareness-raising. Drawing on our 10 years’ experience, Watertrek will design a kit (guide & tools), to be used like a recipe manual, from which volunteers can draw to design the action that best suits their sensibilities and local ecological circumstances. With its Paddle & Protect kit and its Guide des rand’eau, Watertrek is positioning itself as an expert, fun and creative facilitator, with the ambition of mobilizing as many people as possible. Exhibition of orphan shoes collected in the water by the association, an interactive tour and installation designed to raise public awareness of the presence and circulation of macro-waste in rivers and the sea.
