THE VEILS OF SCIENCE: A CHARTING MISSION

Toutes les initiatives

Embark on a scientific and civic adventure along the Charente!
Les Voiles de la Science is an itinerant program of mediation on water and climate, co-built by Unu Mondo Education and LA Water Family, aboard the associative ship Northabout.

For two periods of two months, our crew made up of scientific mediators and trained volunteers will travel the Charente from La Rochelle to Jarnac, meeting school children and the general public. Our journey, punctuated by 6 stops (La Rochelle, Rochefort, Tonnay-Charente, Jarnac, Cognac, Saintes), will transform the river into a living laboratory of learning and actions.

At each port of call (1 week):
✨ 8 half-days of FREE workshops for schools (experiments, observations, debates on climate and river issues).
🎤 Classroom interventions with explorers, projections-debates and innovative teaching tools.
🌍 Public events: ship tours, conferences with researchers, photo and comic exhibitions, guided walks.

Our ambitions?
🔹 Inspire concrete actions to preserve the Charente and its ecosystem.
🔹 Recreate the link between the inhabitants and their river.
🔹 Awakening vocations: making young people want to move towards careers in the environment, science, or sustainable navigation.

A project where adventure meets science, and where each stopover becomes an opportunity to act together for our territory!
