Water Week at the UNESCO International Water Centre

On the occasion of the Scientific Assembly of the International Association of Hydraulic Sciences (AIHS), this event brings together the international scientific community and society as a whole on the theme of water.

More than present, IFGR will be present thanks to the conference open to all given by E. Orsenna on May 31.

From May 29 to June 3, 2022, the international water community and the general public will meet at the UNESCO International Water Centre’s Water Week in Montpellier. This week is designed to reach out to different audiences through events that combine educational and scientific workshops.

Une communauté scientifique rassemblée autour de l’AISH

This event is organized first of all around the  XIth Scientific Assembly of the International Association of Hydrological Sciences, an association that promotes “the study of all aspects of hydrology through the discussion, comparison and publication of research results, as well as the initiation of research requiring international cooperation.”

This is also the 100th anniversary of the organization, and thus an opportunity for a discussion and synthesis of the discipline and its interactions with other scientific fields and societal issues.

An event for a large audience

The event will feature a unique audiovisual exhibition in the Salon du Belvédère, on the roof of the Palais des Congrès.

The Palais will also welcome Mr. Erik Orsenna, in his capacity as President of IAGF, for a conference on water resources, on May 31 at 7 pm.

Finally, workshops on water and risks will be conducted with schoolchildren as part of the “W4F Junior” hackaton.
