The Cycl'eau Tour

For its 3rd edition, Relais Jeunes association is organizing the Cycl’eau Tour, a 53-day, 1,100 km bicycle journey from the Swiss glaciers to the Mediterranean coast, via the Rhône river, in the image of the natural water cycle.

During this journey, hundreds of young people will meet with water stakeholders to discover the issues surrounding water in general, and the Rhône in particular. The project aims to question citizens about their relationship with water through a collective, educational and joyful adventure. By and for young people aged 18 to 25 (and over), Relais Jeunes offers a two-month immersive experience for around 40 cyclists a day.

Project objectives :

– Use a multiscalar, interdisciplinary approach to discover the issues at stake in the water crises and show how they are interconnected.

– Appropriate the best approaches and bring together local players to co-construct a plea based on their best practices.

– Be inspired by sober, collective and enriching lifestyles, with an emphasis on soft mobility.

– Mobilize by opening up this experience to everyone, with no prerequisite skills, so that anyone can join the movement for a day, a week or two months.
