The great book of Célé

The Sauvegarde du Célé association is launching an ambitious participative and innovative project : the creation of a “Grand Livre du Célé”, highlighting the many facets of this emblematic but fragile river in the Lot, Cantal and Aveyron regions. With a body of water judged to be in “poor” and sometimes “mediocre” ecological condition, the Célé and its watershed require greater public involvement to ensure their preservation.

The aim is to unite all local players – residents, associations, experts, local authorities and professionals – around a major collection of socio-cultural and environmental data. It will be spread over 3 years, with a differentiated approach according to the 3 major geographical and geological zones concerned. The project will be built around a central collaborative digital tool : wiki.cele.fr.

This platform will enable the pooling and sharing of knowledge gathered during village “talks” on themes such as history, agriculture, fishing, industry and the cultural heritage associated with the Célé. Everyone will be able to contribute to this evolving digital Grand Livre, a living memory of the river. Multimedia content will be grouped together and made accessible to all, in addition to promotional activities, particularly for young visitors.
